The cooperation between Shizuoka Univ. and UTM (the premier Engineering University in Malaysia) will start at first in the field of Biotechnology and Engineering to establish strong techno-educational cooperative framework through student/staff exchange, joint projects, and product development.
The scope of this cooperation will also extend for join innovative product development and industrialization of new technologies and bioproducts with potential industrial partners in Japan and in Malaysia.

Based on my impression of this symposium, the role of institution is not just for the nation, for the region. As Malaysia is a developing country, we get a support from established University, especially from Shizuoka University. Actually we can work together based on the experience of the senior professors and young professors. We would like to work into three areas. Basically we have to look at restreaming of the areas such as health care, energy and also at the fruit that is our research area where we want to collaborate together.

In the presentation, I have talked about diagnostic for Dengue infection and Dengue vaccine. Mainly my topics is how to develop the diagnostic infection in Indonesia. Because in Indonesia, this disease is very tough. We need to provide this kind of truth to reduce the infection in Indonesia.

I think initiative of Shizuoka University which is making in Asia is very interesting initiative. Because Japan is very technological advanced country, we can learn a lot from it. And we also have own strength which I hope will be recognized Japanese researchers we have an excellent facility some of the IITH which I think we will be able to do some of the research being done in here. And there should be fruitful collaboration between Shizuoka University and other institutes including IIT Hyderabad I think it would be very possible and that would be very good initiative.
